William Penrod, III

William Henry Penrod, III, 21, of Mount Vernon, died on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Saint Louis University Hospital in Saint Louis, Missouri.

He was born Feb. 16, 2003, in Mount Vernon, to William Henry and Michelle (Fontanez) Penrod, Jr.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Penrod is survived by daughter, Terralynn Penrod of Kansas; expected son in October, William Henry Penrod, IV; grandparents, Rita and William Henry Penrod, Sr. of Mount Vernon and Bill and Patricia Maciejowski of Mount Vernon; brother, Cassius Penrod of Kansas; and sisters, Dionicia Penrod and Gracie Penrod, both of Kansas.

Mr. Penrod was a member of West Side Missionary Baptist Church in Mount Vernon. He was one of Mount Vernon’s best wrestlers. Above all, William was a beloved son, father, and brother. He will be greatly missed.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. on July 3, 2024, at West Side Missionary Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon, with Pastor Trevor Pasley officiating. Interment will follow at Bethel Memorial Cemetery in Mount Vernon.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on July 2, 2024, at the church.
