Lorene Donoho

Lorene Donoho, 91, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at Crossroads Community Hospital in Mount Vernon. She was born March 31, 1933 in Jefferson County, to the late William and Minnie (Gilligan) Smith. Lorene married Kelly Donoho on February 17, 1952. They were blessed with many years of marriage before he preceded her in death twenty-nine years ago.

Lorene is survived by her children, Duane Donoho and wife, Sandra of Texico, Dwight Donoho and wife, Vickey of Texico, Charlene Berbower and husband, Gery of Bluford; grandchildren, Tammy Bulliet and husband, Mark of Santa Claus, Indiana, Rachel Hustedde and husband, Robert of Texico, Jennifer Corbett and McKendall Malone of Troy, James Donoho of Flora, Andrea Echelaint of Mount Vernon, Kristi Walker of Bluford, Breanna Ragain and husband, Josh of Mount Vernon, Josh Bergbower and wife Kendra of Bluford, and Mallory Bergbower of Bluford; ten great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Lorene was preceded in death by her siblings, Arthur Smith, Elsie Coil, Kenneth Smith, Roy Smith, Jean Potter, and Earl Smith.

Lorene was a great cook and she loved cooking. She loved her family more than anything else and will be greatly missed.

A graveside service will be held Friday, July 26, 2024 at 10 a.m. at Union Chapel Cemetery in Texico. Interment will follow. Memorials may be made in Lorene’s honor to American Cancer Society.
