The Centralia Police Department announced, ahead of Monday’s city council meeting, the hiring of a new officer, Justin White. According to a press release by the CPD, White went through an extensive pre-employment screening process and will attend 16 weeks of training at the Southwestern Illinois College Police Academy. He is scheduled to start at the academy Monday. Upon successful completion of his basic law enforcement training, he will return to CPD for an additional 12 weeks of field training.
