Charles L. Wisneski

Mr. Charles L. Wisneski of Belleville, IL, departed this life at his residence on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at 5:57 A.M.  He had attained the age of 90 years, 6 months and 5 days.

Charles was born on July 27, 1934, in Perry County, IL, the son of Mike and Regina (Rybacki) Wisneski.    He was united in marriage to Sophie Antkowiak on June 28, 1958, in Posen, IL, and she survives his passing.

Charles proudly served with the United States Army.  He worked as a machinist in St. Louis, MO for many years, until his retirement.  He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Posen, IL.  Charles enjoyed being on his tractor mowing grass and watching his bird feeders.

He leaves behind his beloved wife Sophie Wisneski of Belleville, IL; son, Greg (Tricia) Wisneski of Nashville, IL; daughter, Phyllis (Ben) Castic of Fairview Heights, IL; 2 grandchildren, Benjamin Wisneski and Deston Castic; 2 step grandchildren, Joshua and Jeffrey Parker; brother, Mike (Becky) Wisneski of DuBois, IL; 4 sisters, Severyn Damazyn of St. Louis, MO, Mary Ann (Marion) Buretta of DuBois, IL, Stella Kozuszek of Nashville, IL and Pat Easton of Marissa, IL; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Timothy Wisneski and 2 stepsisters, Ester Shopinski and Evelyn Jackson.

In accordance with the wishes of Charles and his family, cremation will be performed.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Posen, IL on Monday, February 10, 2025, at 10 A.M. with Fr. Stan Konieczny officiating.  Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery.  Military graveside rites will be accorded by the American Legion Post 110.

Friends may call at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church on Monday from 9 A.M. until the service hour.

Should friends desire, mass offerings or memorials can be made to the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home, who is assisting the family with arrangements.
