CARLYLE — The Clinton County Fair ended with a bang. Well, a derby. The demolition derby finished off the 2025 Clinton County Fair.
Before the derby, there were cowboys, vendors, tractor pulls, parades and royalty. Amanda Brink, of Shattuc, won the 2025 Clinton County Fair Queen Pageant on Saturday.
The queen candidates went through a vigorous pageant contest, including a beauty and physique competition in swimwear, speech competition in business attire and an evening gown competition.
Brink took the crown and was crowned the new Clinton County Fair Queen.
Shelby Peters is the retiring queen, and offered a heartfelt address.
“Wherever I go, Clinton County will always have my heart,” Peters said in her farewell address.
“Everyone thinks (that) when you say county fair, you think of showing a hog or a tractor pull. The queen and the queen group do a great job of mixing it up,” said County Fair Board President Greg Rehkemper. “Our past queens do a great job of helping. It is a great and tight-knit group. It has been an honor to work with Shelby Peters.”
