WASHINGTON COUNTY — Last week, Washington County Sheriff’s Office Detective/Sergeant Roxzen Styninger attended the 2025 Women Of Law Enforcement Conference in Fort Worth, Texas. The training was hosted by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board (ILETSB) Executive Institute.
According to a Washington County Sheriff’s Office news release, Styninger said the training provided a powerful opportunity to grow, lead and connect with other women making a difference in the law enforcement field.
Styninger said she is thankful for the opportunity of continued development and honored to have a full week of training with some amazing women at the Women of Law Enforcement Conference. She said there were over 500 female law enforcement professionals from all over the United States with the same goals.
Styninger said she had the opportunity to meet and hear real life experiences from a wide variety of women, including Gabby Petito’s mom and stepmom. Ashley Ferris shared her experience; she was shot on duty ending her career on the streets. Styninger said their stories were powerful along with so many more.
All of the training was led by female instructors. Styninger said the Bob Bolen Public Safety Complex was top notch and provided training opportunities not available locally. She said she will use the training and experience gained to enhance the law enforcement capabilities of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. She said she met lifelong friends and their families. She said this past week was one for the books in her law enforcement career. She thanked Sheriff Ross Schultze for seeing the value in these training sessions.
