JEFFERSON COUNTY — Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office 911 Operator Grace Cole was recently named the 2025 ISA Telecommunicator of the Year.
The award was presented during this week’s Illinois Sheriffs’ Association winter conference banquet in Springfield. In addition, Cole was also recognized with the 2025 Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Telecommunicator of the Year Award.
The awards were a result of Cole’s excellent work handling the 911 call and communications during the Finney murder investigation, which helped make for a quicker apprehension of the offender and recovery of the victim. This was the highlight of Cole’s great work all year, states a JCSO Facebook post.
This marks the seventh time in the past seven years that a JCSO employee has been recognized for outstanding work by a state organization, the post states.
