Reed opens up lead in Centralia Area Fold ’Em Club Player of the Year race

“This is an amazing total for Reed’s second season at the club, following his Rookie of the Year prize last year for his inaugural season, shared club officials. “He set many new Rookie of the Year records during 2022.

“Larry Edwards is having another great season and has won four titles so far this year, with a total of 48 points in the Player of the Year race, currently putting him in second place and only 14 points behind Reed.”

“Dan Reed defeated Tom Belk in extended, fantastic heads-up play at the final table to win the day’s title. Jimmy Branon placed third and Joe Kelly is having his best year ever at the club and placed fourth, picking up three points for a total of 40 points in the Player of the Year race. Billie Branon placed fifth and earned two points for a total of 39 points. Branon has won three Player of the Year awards during her tenure at the club.”

The first cycle playoff championship game is set for April 1. To date, only 13 club members have qualified for this tournament.
