The Christ Our Rock girls basketball team put together one of its best efforts of the season in a 46-43 overtime loss to Vandalia. Christ Our Rock dropped to 12-11 on the season.
Christ Our Rock was down 36-31 in the fourth quarter. The Silver Stallions went on a 6-0 run to take a 37-36 lead on a Bianca Adubato basket with 2:39 left. Vandalia's Anna Forbes made a free throw to tie the game 37-37. Christ Our Rock's Reagan Pingsterhaus had a steal and basket with 1:39 left to give the Silver Stallions a 39-37 lead. Vandalia's Bella Austin made a basket to tie the game 39-39. The game was 39-39 after regulation.
Vandalia went on a 4-0 run to start overtime and take a 43-39 lead. Reagan Pingsterhaus made a basket to get the Silver Stallions within 43-41. Austin made two free throws to put Vandalia up 45-41. Adubato made two free throws to get Christ Our Rock within 45-43. Katie Eckhardt made a free throw to put Vandalia up 46-43. Christ Our Rock missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer to tie the game.
Vandalia jumped to a 10-2 lead. Christ Our Rock went on a 6-0 run to get within 10-8 after the opening quarter. Vandalia went on a 7-0 run to take a second quarter to take a 17-8 lead. Christ Our Rock went on a 9-3 run to end the first half and got within 20-17 following an Adubato 3-pointer.
Vandalia had a 23-17 lead in the third quarter. Christ Our Rock went on an 11-6 run to get within 29-28 following an Adubato basket. Vandalia took a 34-28 lead. Adubato made a free throw to get Christ Our Rock within 34-29 going into the fourth quarter.
Adubato had 22 points for the Silver Stallions. Chloe Carter had 13 points and six rebounds. Reagan Pingsterhaus had six points. Abby Meyer had two points and three rebounds. Adubato had five rebounds. Ryleigh Swartzlander and Peyton Jett both had three rebounds each.
Forbes had 13 points for Vandalia. Zoe Satterhwaite had 12 points. Eckhardt had 10 points.Â
